Equipment List for TSP’s Transformation Program

If you’re shopping our list then you must be a member of our Transformation Program. WELCOME!!!!! Below is a list of the minimum equipment you’ll need to safely and successfully complete our workouts in the TSP Transformation app. I try to keep the needed equipment to a minimum, but also accommodate those who like variety in their workouts over time. Sometimes the best way to add variety is to use different equipment.

In some cases, I’m specific about the brand of certain items because it’s a better quality and more functional item to last you longer.  In those cases I call that out in the description for each item. For other items, I don’t care about the brand, get whatever you feel is the best value.

You can buy these items from any store that suits you. They happen to all be available from Amazon as well. All links below are Amazon affiliate links. However, please note – my mission in life isn’t really to make tons of money off of Amazon. I just provide the links for those who just want to point, click and order quickly so they can get started asap with workouts in our app. Please shop where you feel most comfortable. If you have any questions, shoot me a message within the TSP app so I’m sure to see it.

Not including the optional bench, you should be able to find these items for around $100 total, or less if you shop local FB marketplace or look for really good deals on Amazon. They pretty much always have some sort of sale on fitness equipment, if you look hard enough.

Equipment List Required for TSP Transformation App Workouts

Amazon affiliate link: CAP Coated Dumbbells

  • At least 2 sets of dumbbells – one light and one heavier. The list set is for arms / shoulder / back work, the heavier set is for legs.
  • If you’re unsure what weight, stop by a local sporting goods store and try out a few different weights.
  • The brand doesn’t matter, but I do prefer rubber-coated to the non-coated iron-ends, it’s gentler on your floors if dropped
  • Some women have luck finding used dumbbells on Facebook marketplace or garage sales that are still in good condition. They don’t have to be brand new. Buying used is ok as long as handles are still attached to the ends securely.

Amazon affiliate link: SPRI Resistance Tube / Band Set w/Quick Change Handles and Ankle / Wrist Strap

  • NO MATTER WHAT BRAND YOU BUY, make sure you have the quick-change handles. They must have carabiner style ends on the tubes, and D-links on the end of the handle and ankle straps. This allows you to very quickly change out the tubes for different purposes within a single workout, or to change resistance (colors) as you move from one exercise to the next. Some off-brand sets have permanently attached handles or weird connectors that I don’t think are easy to use or safe over the long-term.
  • I personally prefer the SPRI brand, they’re well-known for their quality in the world of fitness equipment.
  • A set of multiple colors (resistance levels) is better and usually cheaper than trying to buy these onesie-twosie.
  • I don’t recommend buying these used. Resistance tubes take a beating and stretch out / become weaker over time.

Amazon affiliate link: BOSS Extra Large Heavy Duty Door Anchor For Resistance Tubes

  • This is the exact anchor I bought for my house. Get whatever brand you want, but make sure it has the following features: the biggest foam stopper; the padded loop to protect your resistance tubes from wear and tear, and is made of heavy duty material. You really want to be sure it can anchor your tubes well because face-planting in the middle of your exercise is not recommended!

Amazon affiliate link: Booty-Band Fabric Loop Set

  • I don’t care which brand or color you choose, just make sure it’s fabric (the rubber band versions are used for a different purpose). A set of 3 is a good idea, so you have the next level up in resistance on hand as you get stronger.
  • Look for wide bands, made of fabric, not rubber. At least 3 different levels of resistance in a set (light, medium, heavy).

Amazon affiliate link: Set of 5 Small Latex Resistance Loops w/Bag

  • Brand doesn’t matter, just pay attention to measurements. These vary widely in size
  • You want something that’s no more than 10″L x 2″W. We do ankle / foot work with these so you don’t want something too big.

Amazon affiliate link: Thick Exercise Mat For Floorwork

  • I don’t care about the brand, but I do care about the thickness – for your body’s sake. I highly recommend at least 1″ of thickness. Typical yoga mats are super thin. If you plan on working out on a hard floor, then you’ll want a really thick mat. Floorwork puts pressure on hips, shoulders, elbows. A yoga mat won’t cut protect you.
  • Exercise mats are highly personal decisions. Think about things like: Will you hang it on a wall for storage or roll it up? How tall are you – do you need an extra-long mat? Pick one that meets your personal criteria and budget.

Amazon affiliate link: Adjustable Weight Bench, 660LBS Capacity, Folds For Small Spaces

  • Ok, hear me out on this one. This is completely optional, as everything we do that requires a bench can also be done with a kitchen chair or an ottoman. HOWEVER, some exercises are just plain uncomfortable on a kitchen chair, or the height of the chair is a little too tall for shorter women.
  • If you try your chair and decide you don’t like it, opt for an adjustable exercise bench. The brand doesn’t matter, and there are always a few on sale on Amazon (or try local Facebook marketplace.
  • Some features I think are important: it HAS to adjust make it worth the expense; foldable for small spaces is nice if you’re limited on space; double-check the maximum weight capacity – 660lbs is plenty! Check out the thickness of cushions – really thin padding is no better than your kitchen chair – opt for one with thicker padding; check the length and width of the seat and backrest – try to get the biggest one you can just for comfort, especially if you’re tall or plus-size.
  • AGAIN – this is optional b/c a chair or ottoman will also work. I just personally think a bench is way more comfortable and feels more stable, and having one opens up TONS of additional exercises we can do over time to prevent boredom.
